diabetics and high fructose corn syrup, I see a link
The CDC the other day came out with revised estimates of how many people in this country are diabetic or pre-diabetic. It was a lot, almost 8 percent of the population. The New York Times (and other publications, probably) continues to report on this trend as well.
Most of these articles talk about […]
uh, what do I do with this?
In the interest of trying to eat more real food, as opposed to processed food, Sam and I signed up for a vegetable share from a local organic farm. We’re splitting it with two other people, so it’s not like we have a huge box of vegetables to deal with, but still.
We’ve had it two […]
let the showering begin
Sam and I are up north this weekend, we had to come up for a baby shower that my family wanted to give me. He didn’t have to go to the shower (of course), but he came up to hang out the my brothers and their boy children.
The baby shower was nice, it was […]
until you can see the head crowning

So it’s been about a month and a half since the stepdaughter came to live with us. School is out this Friday, and then she’s here for about another week after that, and then she moves to Arizona.
It’s been busy to say the least, since Sam mostly works at night and I’m the primary […]
what I did on my summer vacation
The Mr., the stepdaughter, and I took a little vacation during the week of Memorial Day. Originally I had thought this would be a honeymoon, but we have the stepdaughter living with us so we brought her along. It was a good time, and I’m glad she came along.
However, since I was the […]
what pregnant women shouldn’t do
We were on vacation last week, visiting presidential libraries and family in the midwest. We stayed for three nights at the same hotel in Kansas City, and so on the first night the Mr. and I walked to the nearest gas station to pick up some things.
I needed water, so we got a case of […]
