being a good sport
I went to the holiday party last Friday, in an effort to be a good sport. I think I didn’t succeed very well. Sometimes I was a good sport, sometimes a bad sport.
Good sport: attended party
Bad sport: didn’t get manicure as many women did before the party
Good sport: washed hands before eating
Bad sport: didn’t leave early to get hair done and get dressed for party
Good sport: brushed my hair, put on makeup
Bad sport: complained bitterly to tablemates about poor entertainment
Good sport: smiled at other partygoers while they enjoyed the entertainment
Bad sport: left early
Good sport: was not the first person to leave early
Bad sport: related in some detail how TERRIBLE the party was to coworker who didn’t attend
Good sport: did not complain at work on Monday
Is this a Good sport or a Bad sport? asked to be on party planning committee next year
