Quadrilla, the marble game and coffee

I have arrived safely, with no major issues. Luckily one can purchase a visa to enter Australia at the airport check-in counter (since I hadn’t remembered that T told me to get one back in November).   It’s beautiful here, even with the light rain that fell all day.  There has apparently been a drought for a while and the rain was welcomed by everyone.

I brought a number of things for T that were cheaper (or only available) to ship to the US, one of which was this terribly interesting Quadrilla, a marble game.   T wanted to make sure we knew how it worked before introducing it to Aaron, so after he went to bed tonight we figured it out — and her husband, after seeing us build the second complicated structure and marvel at the ingenuity like 8-year-olds, asked if the game was for Aaron or Theresa.

Jet lag hasn’t been too bad, T had me walking around outside in the sun all day (arrived at 8 AM) — plus I had my fair share of coffee.  I haven’t figured out how to order coffee the way I like it yet — I ordered a long black (shot of espresso with hot water, kind of like your typical cafe americano) but forgot to ask for milk.   When I did ask for milk after the fact because it wasn’t just sitting around, the lady behind the counter said, “You’re not from around here, are you?”

Hm.  I’m noticing this trend where my travels to foreign countries seem to have some comment about the coffee each time.  I must be turning into a coffee addict.
